that was a punch to the gut, but a SB loss is the ultimate pain, so I'll go with SB V. the Cowboys were clearly better than the Colts, but found a way to lose.

COWBOYS - Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Gary Hogeboom
Babe Laughenberg, Brad Johnson and Brandon Weeden would give them a run for their money.

Re: Wins that began/started an era

As far as the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys, it was probably the victory over the Skins on Thanksgiving in 1990 (big individual games for the Triplets), or perhaps besting the undefeated Redskins at RFK a year later.

Re: 1985/1986- End of an era for the Cowboys/Raiders

I have always thought it was a real testament to Tom Landry's coaching ability that Dallas won the Division title in 1985. How many good players did Gil Brandt draft after 1977? Cosbie, Christensen, Walter, Newsome, Springs, Jeffcoat, Walker, Irvin, Norton, and Walls Bates, and Downs as free agents...

Troy Aikman was highly overrated as a QB- I think the 1992 Cowboys would have still gone 13-3 and won the Super Bowl if Steve Beurelein started every game that season
Do they win those three championships if Tony Romo was the QB?
