Re: Mary Jane and Football

Which is ironic if you consider that pot is legal as a recreational substance in at least one state (Colorado) and soon to be many more. And that's not including the several in which it is allowed for medicinal purposes. Not "several" - try 24 plus DC. Medical Marijuana Now Legal in 24 St...

Re: Mary Jane and Football

And, has there ever been a more flagrant waving of the alcohol banner in sports than the Busch stadia I, II, and III? Sportsman's Park in St. Louis was actually renamed Budweiser Stadium when August Busch bought the St. Louis Browns in 1953 but after the new name received a lot of flak from the med...

Re: What's the best pro game you ever attended?

The scope of grade in the lower grandstand at the PG was not very severe. The NYPD had a history of hiring guys who were pretty big and burly so, when these guys leaped to their feet, the youngsters did not get to see very much. The mezzanine and upper grandstand had a much sharper scope. Management...

Re: What's the best pro game you ever attended?

Ahhh! The first nfl game was the "best." It was a while ago, November 9, 1952 when I first saw the New York Football Giants. Little about the game is remembered although I did recall that the Giants won - but did not recall the score, 23-14. The game had a significance that was lost on eve...

Hardly a mount but maybe a hill (like the hills of Connemara.) Likely, some here grew up before video games but still enjoyed the "electric" thrill of simulated action. There was an earlier version of this game and many a runner became a "Jim Marshall" as he vibrated toward the ...

Re: Memorable dropped passes/interceptions

Two of these occurred in the final seconds of the 1996 AFC title game. First, Chris Oldham of the Steelers dropped a sure interception. Then Jim Harbaugh's pass on the final play bounced off the chest of receiver Aaron Bailey in the end zone. The latter might not technically qualify as a drop, howe...

Re: 1970 Chiefs

... Cannon was cut by the Raiders in August and was originally signed to the Chiefs' taxi (practice) squad in early October. After a few weeks to presumably get back in shape, he was put on the active roster--ironically taking Garrett's spot on the roster. Stram said he wanted depth at TE, with one...
