I can promise you they won't be much help. You'd be better off posting a link in the comments section of one of Volsky's videos.

Re: NFL films on dvd?

I'm resurrecting this thread to register an old-guy complaint: The newer NFL team highlight films are simply dire. The scripts in the old days could be a bit overwrought, but at least they were entertaining. At least they were written . Now they’re mostly a recitation of statistics punctuated by rad...

Re: What Stopped Grren Bay in 1964

Kicking FGs with a groin pull sounds like a challenging endeavor, yet Vince kept sending him out there. Lombardi cost them that second Baltimore game. Green Bay led 21-17 with less than two minutes to play, but Lombardi sent Hornung -- with a sore neck, 0-for-4 on the day -- out to try a field goal...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

Dorsey Levens suffered a broken leg in 1998. Had an impressive comeback to get that 1,000 yards. OK. Good for him. He did a great job. However, he was never in Ahman Green's class. And I've never been as handsome as George Clooney. So? I'm not sure why you're so determined to dump on a team that yo...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

[I guess its kind of an "outside the box" logic to judge a Super Bowl team by how their players played in seasons other than the Super Bowl season. I was referring more to the three-year period from 1995-97 regarding Green Bay, but point taken. And yes, no question that Denver was the bet...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

Also, those SB Packer teams (while not the worst SB winners ever) weren't as great as people think. Favre was good, but overrated. Levens and Bennett were meh as RB's, and they didn't have as good of an o-line as Denver's. Plus, while they had a good D-line, their LB's and CB's were trash (they sho...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

I can't dispute that the Packers didn't make they hay they could have with 30 years' worth of Hall of Fame quarterbacks. But the idea that the '96 team is one of the worst Super Bowl winners is simply insane. They had both the top-ranked offense and defense. They had the MVP. They went 5-2 during a ...

Re: 1998 Eagles Season

Wolf was surprised and appalled by how unfocused and undisciplined the team was under Rhodes. Sloppy tackling and mental errors became the rule instead of the exception in Green Bay. He was wise to realize his mistake and act quickly.

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

I know this is a football forum, but that was a great show. Too bad there wasn't a season 2. Indeed. I was a high school senior in a small midwestern city during the school year that show takes place in, and I'm telling you, they nailed it. The characters, the clothes, the music, the teachers, all ...
