Re: What's the biggest football moment you witnessed in person?
The only game of "historical significance" that I've been at was the Monday night Jerry Rice scored three TDs vs the Raiders to break the over-all touchdown record. I'll remember that night till the day I die and a big thanks to Gene Anderson for letting me have his dad's season ticket sea...

Re: Best Teams To Miss The Playoffs
The playoffs in the 1960's weren't what they are today but probably one of the best teams from any era to miss the post season was the 1967 Baltimore Colts. There aren't a lot of one-loss teams that didn't make it to the playoffs, especially with a league MVP (Unitas) at QB. https://www.pro-football...

Re: COFFIN CORNER VOLUME 46 NUMBER 1
My favorite memories of "Electric Football" (and I too had a set in the mid 1960's till the mid '70's) was getting out my model paints and painting the nondescript players (mine came in yellow and white, if I recall correctly) to represent my favorite players and/or teams. I made teams of ...

Re: E.J. Holub
As an NFL guy and not too knowledgeable on the AFL, I was unfamiliar with E.J. Holub, but now I am shocked that I didn't know of him. He started two Super Bowls at two different positions, the only one to ever do that. 7 times on either first or second-team All-AFL, five-time All-Star, three-time A...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
NFL fans still have to wonder why nobody offered enough to pry Young from SF but maybe plenty tried and either he said no, or SF management said no ... Montana himself wondered why Young didn't go and start somewhere else but I believe Steve was determined to succeed him just to justify/show up Bil...

Re: Larry Brooks
This is probably going to sound like a boneheaded question but you say Antwine is on the ballot. Where would that ballot be? The Ballot for Last Year's HoVG (too late to vote now) is about 20 posts down on the first page of HOF and HOVG Talk, below. Here it is: https://www.profootballresearchers.or...

Re: PIT QB signings
As a Steelers fan I think acquiring both Russ and Fields were good moves that greatly improve the quarterback room for the team. It seems wise to "back up" Wilson in case he is done... he didn't look very good in Denver last season. Fields seems coachable and a good fit with the run first ...

Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl
What JuggernautJ? Was I wrong? No! You're exactly right. (Disclaimer: I am a 49ers and Steelers fan) I watched the game at the annual reunion of my sandlot team (The Juggernauts) and we saw every one of those picks that the refs never called. It was infuriating. And everyone who ever played ball th...

Re: JOE NAMATH vs LEN DAWSON
...and he wore white shoes! The horror of it! (Now that I think about it, so did my dad, with a powder blue leisure suit and white belt, straight off the rack at Montgomery Wards. Ahhh, dem were da days.) At least my leisure suit was nave blue. I think mine was J.C. Penny but same difference. (And ...
