Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?
In terms of 1000 yard seasons Winder was definitely a one hit wonder...however his 8 other seasons he was still a contributor in terms of running/catching the ball out of the backfield. Not a great player but not one that holds an offense back either He actually had two Pro Bowl appearances - 1984 a...

Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?
Karim led the NFL in rushing TD’s in 1997 So? How many were short yardage plunges or easy walk ins? He was not a good running back. Poor YPC. Not very elusive or explosive Name a RB with great YPC but few touchdowns One that came to mind was Tony Dorsett. He definitely had fewer than most would exp...

Re: NFL MVP's who didn't deserve to win
If I were to cast a "just to be different" vote in 1994 for MVP...maybe make a case for Ben Coates. Became an elite tight end that year. 96 receptions. At that point it was the most ever by a TE. He was also a good blocker...clutch catch after clutch catch.

Re: 1997 Raiders Defense
I remember being at a Raiders/Jets game where Cole Ford went 1/5 and absolutely cost them a win. It was one of those rare games where the Jets opponent followed the script usually reserved for the Jets Raiders had 0 turnovers and even had fewer penalties than the Jets! Normally a 90s Raider loss wa...

Re: 2021 QB draft class
Just how badly Wilson can look out there is really jarring. Poor accuracy. Terrible ball placement on the easiest of throws. Perfectly set up screens which he throws at the feet of the receiver and 3 yards in front of him. No ability to read a defense. Will outright not see an open receiver and opt ...

Re: NYG under Ray Perkins, 1979-thru-'82
I think they are still good though not quite the level that master motivator Parcells would get them. You still have George Young and Ernie Adams there. The talent there would have them either in or competing for a playoff spot every year. I do not think Parcells stays there as DC & LB coach if ...

Re: Aaron Donald Retires
Absolute first ballot HOF'er and a dominant force. His ability to shed a tackle and just appear out of a mass of bodies at the line and rocket towards a QB was something else.
He could go from being engaged in a block to engulfing a QB 7 yards away in seemingly less than half a second.

Re: 1995 Patriots- What went wrong?
The defense wasn't great in 1994, but they finished 12th in points allowed and 18th in total yards. The next year, they dropped to 25th in points and 28th in yards allowed. One reason for this may have been turnover on the DL. In 1994, they had 12-year vet Mike Pitts and former Cardinal Mike Jones ...
