Re: Andy Livingston Bears/Saints (1964-1970)

He apparently had an 86 yard kickoff return in vs the Vikings in 1964 in the final weeks of the season.

Anyone have video of that?

Re: Andy Livingston Bears/Saints (1964-1970)

Here's what they wrote about him in Pro Football 1970 by Jack Zanger: "A powerful 6-1, 230-pound runner who spent five seasons with the Chicago Bears before falling into disfavor with George Halas, Andy Livingston came to the Saints just before the start of the 1969 season. He subsequently pro...

Andy Livingston Bears/Saints (1964-1970)

Learned for the first time today about him. I believe he is still the youngest player to score a TD in an NFL game at barely over 20 years old after entering the league under a hardship waiver. I looked up some pictures of him and he might rival Earl Campbell for the largest thighs I have ever seen....

Re: False starts

Glad to hear from you again, Hail Casares but if the television line is unofficial since when did referees make it official? Even this past weekend, there were a lot of close plays that would have been measured by the referees from real coaches from the past. I understand what you're saying but coa...

Re: False starts

Have you guys noticed that the officials never measure for close first downs? The coaches never demand a measurement and the officials seem to follow the tv lines--which are supposed to be unofficial-- as if they are law ? ... I blame the coaches for not demanding measurements ... I think this has ...

Re: '35 Packers (and NFL season in-general)

The individual rushing totals always bothered me too. Almost seems like an error to win a rushing title with 499 yards. Dutch Clark averaged 6.2 ypc in '34 and dropped to 3.6. Did all the teams make a defensive adjustment in response to Feathers' big year in '34? As far as the standings, maybe it w...

Re: Matt Ryan

Thanks ... Like hearing different peoples takes on the nominees, though this thread is about Ryan, who probably wont make it into the HOF but I dont believe Rivers, Newton or Eli will either. Wilson in Denver needs to take the team to at least an AFC Championship game, while continuing to start gam...

Re: Matt Ryan

Whats your take on the recent nominees of Howley, Riley, Klecko and Coryell, Hail Casares ? Agree, Disagree ? Howley, to me, has always been a guy who I thought belonged. It's tough to argue against his peak. I think if you can point to a player and say he was arguably the best at his position for ...

Re: Matt Ryan

Ryan is an interesting case. His HOF Monitor score from PFR puts him pretty well into the discussion for the HOF, but I think the one exceptional season does a lot of the heavy lifting there to boost him. Aside from that, Ryan made the PB three other times(none since that MVP year) and seems to be j...
