Re: Cornell Green & Mel Renfro

I thought the same thing in 1973. The home blue and white looked sharp.

Re: QB Wins ¿Do they really mean anything?

The Cowboys did manage to win two 1970 playoff games with Morton starting, though he contributed next to nothing: Lions, 5-0 win: 4 of 18 for 38 yards and an interception. 49ers, 17-10 win: 7 of 22 for 101 yards, one 5-yard TD pass. Re: Milwaukee Journal & Milwaukee Sentinel No longer availab

I saw them listed on Genealogy Bank but when I clicked on the link for the Milwaukee Journal the webpage asks for names of your ancestors. Milwaukee Journal & Milwaukee Sentinel No longer available

A great source of old information just dried up as the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel are no longer available on Google News Archives.

I have passed on my complaint to the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel and would encourage others to do so as well.

Re: Did we ever find the Sporting News stuff online?

My reply assumes you mean their archives.

I read it everyday on my IPad using the Paper of Record App. Best $5 I ever spent. Unfortunately, I have heard it is not available for the IPhone. Starting in 1966, they significantly increased their football coverage.

Re: Why did the Shotgun fall out of favor in 1961?

I remember reading in the old Neft-Cohen Encyclopedia that George Halas developed a defense for the shotgun by lining up a lineman over center. The Niners scrapped the shotgun after being ripped 31-0. Hickey did originally design the shotgun as a running formation to take advantage of quarterback B...

Snap counts

I am guessing they haven't been kept for very long but I would be interested findings the snap counts for the 1996 Packers (especially the position players and front seven on defense). How long have teams kept track of them?
