He's not legendary, he's merely the best of a watered down era.
Yeah, he just happens to be winning Super Bowls. While other teams are losing. It's all just a roll of the dice that it keeps coming up this way.

Give it up.

Re: JOE NAMATH vs LEN DAWSON

Your right Richard, the Jets defense was outstanding, but only from 1968-69. The front seven was very good from 1966 onward but their secondary was bad, thats why they signed the black-balled, Johnny Sample, one of the best moves Weeb Ewbank ever made. The Jets got lucky getting Jim Hudson for thei...

Re: Andy Reid vs Tom Landry vs Don Shula

Reid is being underrated here fairly significantly. I said before the game the Chiefs would win and they would outcoach the 49ers. They outcoached the 49ers the last time, outcoached the Eagles, outcoached the 49ers again. I am very impressed by that. Above Landry, no question about it. Shula in th...

Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl

I think Purdy is merely good. I expect if I look back the Chiefs were baiting him to pass and it worked. The special teams mistakes will be remembered. For me it will be the two throwaways on third down late in regulation and overtime. That is just superior coaching on the Chiefs side, I'm sure they...

Re: 1991 Eagles in Detail

Often I wondered what happened to the Eagles defense in the 25 to 12 loss. No turnovers & just one sack for 7 yards It's still only 210 yards. 9 points were scored by the Cowboys' defense. Two of the FGs and another missed FG were drives that started in Eagles' territory because of turnovers. T...

Re: The end of dynasties in the NFC?

Since 1998, here's the QBs with multiple NFC Championships: Kurt Warner 3 (two different teams) Eli Manning 2 Russell Wilson 2 Rodgers and Brees set gobs of records but only one apiece. Teams that did it in relatively close proximity (Rams, Eagles, 49ers) but changed QBs in between. Sometimes coache...

Re: 2023 Conference Championship Games

Kind of surprising the Chiefs won without scoring in the second half. I guess it took so long for the Ravens to get within one score it didn't matter. Wondered if it happened before, a team winning without scoring in the second half. Found 1986, where the Giants beat the Redskins 17-0 with all of th...

Re: Divisional Playoff Weekend

Love throw = 2009 Brett Favre I'm sure I might draw some ire for this comment. But I gotta point out that LaFleur basically put his QB in a position to fail there. On the int, I took a photo of the screen when they showed the wide-angle replay and they had two receivers running to the EXACT same sp...
