The Sporting News Football Register 1975 edition states the trade was made on 8/16/1973 and Watkins was traded for Dick Cunningham, as stated previously.

Re: Looking for stats

Thanks for the info and your help, Tod. PFF does have 3/4 of what I'm looking for going back to 2006. So at least that's something. However, you are correct, their statistical services are quite expensive and it only goes back 15 seasons. The price of $200 a year or $35 a month is a bit much especia...

Looking for stats

I'm looking for some stats that I believe are rarely published. I found these stats in the Pro Football Handbooks that were published by Stats Inc. from 1995-2001, also in Pro Football Revealed 1994 by Stats Inc. I haven't been able to find them anywhere else besides the Advanced Stats portion of pr...

Re: 1965 NFL Draft question

https://www.prosportstransactions.com/football/DraftTrades/Years/1965.htm I would have to assume that this is accurate... The Bears '64 2nd and '64 4th went to the Steelers for the Steelers #1 in 1965 and that ended up being the 3rd pick in the draft since Pittsburgh finished '64 with a 5-9 record. ...

Re: USFL box scores

Lee, You can find complete box scores in the Sporting News USFL Guide and Register for both 1984 and 1985, which features box scores for every game of 1983 and 1984 for every team. You should be able to find both on ebay. The 1985 Arizona Outlaws media guide has all box scores for the 1984 Wranglers...

Re: USFL gamebooks

I'm sure they exist somewhere. Why are you sure they exist somewhere? Whether or not gamebooks for every USFL game exist now is not a certainty but it is almost certain that every game had a gamebook produced at the time the games were played. I have seen some pop up on ebay every now and then so I...

Re: USFL gamebooks

Have you tried looking at game results reported in newspapers to fill in the holes? Use newspapers.com and/or newspaper archive.com to look at local coverage in the next day’s newspapers after the games. That is actually a pretty good idea. I will look into it to see what I can come up with. I'll b...

Re: USFL gamebooks

The Hall of Fame has some of the USFL gamebooks, but I guess the Hall is still closed. If you really want play-by-plays you could do your own watching games on You Tube. I have thought about doing that. It would time comsuming and probably not 100% accurate so that's probably something that I will ...
