Re: Were NFL games televised the Sunday of JFK's death
The seven NFL games that weekend had pretty good attendance, given the circumstances. The belief was that people wanted to get away from the news for a few hours. While some of the attendances look small, some of the stadiums they played weren't huge to begin with: Dallas-Cleveland: 55,096 Washingto...

Re: High-Scoring Quarters
In all but a few cases, the highest-scoring games usually have a steady stream of scoring in each quarter, rather than one monster period.

Re: High-Scoring Quarters
I found a few examples of NFL teams scoring six times in one quarter: Packers in 1945, Rams in 1950 and Rams again in 1980. Has any team scored seven or more times in one quarter? (Any mix of touchdowns, field goals and safeties). The 1967 Pack came close with five touchdowns in the first quarter d...

Re: Dumbest ideas the NFL had
This big idea was mostly from owners but the league didnt have a problem with it ... replacing grass fields with PolyTurf. Seeing the Orange Bowl with an artificial surface just blew my mind. I can't help but wonder if it was done because artificial surfaces had just become "a thing" back...

Re: Madden Passes
Madden signed a $150-million agreement with EA Sports several years ago that allows the company to use his name and likeness in perpetuity. In addition to that huge haul, he drew an estimated $2 million a year in royalties. But he could've been even richer. When the game was launched back in the ea...

Re: Madden Passes
Madden and Bill Cowher have similar careers: one Super Bowl title and multiple times coming up short in the conference title game. Madden was 1-5 in those games (1-1 at home) in those games and Cowher 2-4 (1-4 at home). Both left coaching and then entered broadcasting. While Madden had an impressive...

Re: Antonio Brown
While I am thoroughly disgusted with this numbskull's abject immaturity right now, please let's not act as if what he's done is anywhere close to as bad as Tyrer or Sharper, either. He's a jerk, not a serial rapist or murderer. There's this: https://www.nfl.com/news/antonio-brown-settles-sexual-ass...
