Re: 2022 Hall of Very Good

How many dues-paying members does the PRFA have?

How many of those dues-paying members vote each year? How many make nominations each year? Is there a year-by-year breakdown available?

Re: College realignment

I heard a radio sports talk show host say he heard from "reliable sources" the Big Ten and the SEC intend to expand to 20 team conferences consisting of two ten team divisions. He speculated that Notre Dame would eventually have to choose a conference. Personally, I find the college game ...

HoF Bruce Smith comments about Hof-inductee Tony Boselli

"Bruce Smith: Tony Boselli’s Hall of Fame campaign undermined the integrity of the Hall Former Jaguars left tackle Tony Boselli will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August, and another Hall of Famer doesn’t seem too happy about that. Bruce Smith, the Bills great who is the onl...

Re: Under-appreciated long stretches by franchises

The Packers from 1921 through 1944 won 6 championships. They had only 2 losing seasons in that 24-year span. Still strange to say - as someone who became a Packer fan early in the lull (1970 - missed it by *that* much) - but the Packers from '92 onward: 2 championships, 15 division titles, 22 playo...

Re: Rank all '60s League Champions, #1-to-#20

Three best teams were the 66 Packers, 69 Raiders and 69 Chiefs ... Agree. The 1969 Chiefs defense has the most hall of famers of any unit in pro football history with six. They have to be a top 5 or top 10 team of that era. The '66 and '67 Packer defenses also have six starters in the PFHoF. And, y...

Re: Third.string quarterback question

Bears 3rd string QB in 1972-1973 was Zeke Bratkowski! . He was at our meeting in Green Bay a few years ago. I asked him for an autograph but he wanted my autograph first! (I was treasurer of PFRA then and wrote him a check for his travel expenses.) Zeke and Bob (Long) were fantastic. Bob came early...

I fully expect the Seahawks to have a new head coach/GM in place by the beginning of the 2025 season (their 50th!) if not sooner.
50th? Egads.

Re: Role Players With A SB Ring That People Felt Good For

Getting a ring for the Packers probably wont help Andre Rison make the HOF, though it could but I was happy for him knowing how good a player he was. The Packers should have kept him but naturally allowed Brooks to get his starting job back so Rison deserved to start somewhere else. Nice to see Ken...

Re: Role Players With A SB Ring That People Felt Good For

Mark Brunell with the 2009 Saints, in his 16th NFL season.... That's a good one, Teo. Reminded me of Bernie Kosar getting a ring with the Cowboys. While not "role players" it was nice to see ex-Brownies Bernie and Ernie (Byner) eventually get their rings. Bernie did so much for the Browns...
