Re: Ejections

Fran Tarkenton got tossed near the end of the 1974 Patriots at Vikings game after he fired the ball off the back of Ron Bolton's helmet after Fran had scored a go ahead TD. Bolton tried to clip Tark's heel as he crossed over the goal line. I can't recall if Bolton got tossed also. I believe that Tr...

Re: Seniors

I don't understand why Harold Jackson each year doesn't make the Seniors list. He was productive for 3 teams, with no HOF quarterback, he was the leader among 1970s receivers in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, and retired as the 2nd all-time leader in receiving yards.

Re: Ejections

I am wondering if a coach or even a mascot has been ejected. I remember a few years ago that the Panthers mascot downed a punt in the end zone when it was not yet called a touchback. I don't remember if the mascot was flagged or ejected.

In 1999 Steve Beuerlein led the NFL with 4436 passing yards and was second with 36 touchdown passes, but was overshadowede by Kurt Warner's great season.

Re: Players with great seasons that got overshadowed by anot

In 1983, Curt Warner rookie season was overshadowed by fellow rookie Eric Dickerson. Warner would have been Rookie of the Year every other year.

Re: Obscure trivia

I have no idea what the answer is to that question, but I do know the answer to this related question, so I'll add it to this thread. When the final game of the regular season ended, this running back had 990-some yards. But he finished as a 1,000-yard rusher. Better yet, this description applies t...

Re: Inane Super Bowl trivia!

Question 1: both the Raiders and Vikings had 3 team captains for the coin toss of Super Bowl XI. Name the six players who were captains. I am guessing: Gene Upshaw, Ray Guy and Ken Stabler. Jim Marshall, Mick Tingelhoff and Roy Winston. For the record, in Super Bowl IX, the Vikings captains were Ma...

Re: Eugene Lipscomb-1st Huge and Fast Lineman

For those not familiar with the story of his death it was said that Lipscomb hated needles and never would have injected himself. It was probably done when he was unconscious. There was a story done by NFL Films I believe but I can't remember when or all the details. Yes, this would make a great fi...
