Re: Stafford most underhonored player in NFL history?
Please stop comparing QBs playing right now to QBs who played literally any other time besides right now. If you do, use proper era-adjusted metrics, not raw ratios. Stafford's career thus far is no better or worse than Matt Ryan. Both HOVG/borderline HOF guys, one great season each and a lot of ave...

Re: All-time Ivy League NFL starting lineup?
Oluokun is a linebacker. He should replace Zak DeOssie, who I believe is primarily known as a long snapper.

Re: Stafford most underhonored player in NFL history?
Having tracked Stafford's performance closely every year he's been in the league, honestly, 2011 and this season are the only ones where I think he's done enough in comparison to other QBs in the same season to warrant Pro Bowl selection, especially given that he's rarely been on winning teams. He t...

Re: Heinicke looks like Tarkenton
Wilson comes off as a much better comparison to Tarkenton than Heinicke. Heinicke, to me, falls into that category of B quarterbacks with a motor that has no idea how to go at less than 110 percent. Fitzpatrick, Minshew, and Keenum are his primary competition in this class. Fitz legitimately has a r...

Re: 1932
I would assume the NFL just doesn't have any 1920-31 records. I think what posters have been referring to is gamelogs for 1932 and after, which would still be a massive addition to the site.

Re: Urban Meyer finished after 13 games
I think it's clear why Meyer wasn't built for the NFL: he's such a college coach, so committed to the infallibility of the college football system and its mechanism of filtering the best players through the draft, that he refuses to believe players who weren't relevant in college could make it as pr...

Re: 1932
Great info, Tod. My edition of Neft is from 1994, so it precedes that release date by just a bit. I suppose this means that, even for the complete games, Neft's stats for 1920-31 may contain the same margin of error from what "really" happened as found between the official stats in 1932 an...

Re: 1932
So I guess I'll go with what PFR has. Any idea why Neft calculated the stats so differently, even in cases where all games are marked complete (e.g. Herber)?

Re: Todd Gurley and Le'veon Bell
The inevitable has happened: Bell has ended up in Tompa. On the one hand, if there's anyone who can save this guy's career, it's Brady. On the other, if Brady can save this guy's career, there's no one he can't save.

Re: HOVG?? No, its the HOI!!!
And for a few coaches/GMs... John McKay - inner-circle fascinating character, Casey Stengel of the NFL. Three or four plane crashes and we might be in the playoffs. Jerry Glanville - another all-around character, gets extra for the high strangeness that was the rise and fall of Grits Blitz. Also dro...
