Re: 2023 Obituaries
Sorry to learn this morning of the passing of Jets and Broncos kicker Jim Turner. Turner kicked 3 field goals and a TD conversion in Super Bowl III. He played in one other Super Bowl as well.

Re: Singular greatest moment in NFL history
An early "singular moment" would be the signing of Red Grange, I would think. If you're talking about on-field or captured on film it might be difficult to separate out a single instance (imo). Signing of Joe Namath was another huge moment in terms of National publicity. It may have been ...

Re: Don Meredith
Fun fact: Meredith was not drafted by Dallas. He was drafted by George Allen when Allen was working the draft for the Bears. The Bears have to surrender Meredith in the expansion process. The Bears won the 1963 title with Billy Wade at QB. But you do wonder how good they might have been with Meredith.

Re: THE OFFICIAL PFRA PODCAST: EPISODE FOUR
This was an interesting episode for reasons beyond football. Late in the interview, Maynard talks about his father's friendship with Joe Namath. Maynard the son accompanied his father to a lot of functions late in life. I don't want to give the story away, but it is worth listening to. He'll talk ab...

AFL, NFL Super Bowl champs
I am trying to recall how many players won an AFL championship, an NFL championship before the merger and a Super Bowl.
I know Johnny Sample (59-59 Colts, 68Jets) won all three. I Know Weeb Ewbank did it as a coach (same teams as Sample).
Does anyone others?

Re: George Allen's Legacy as Redskin HC
I was watching the History of the Redskins on You Tube recently. During the part about George Allen, people like John Riggins were saying that Allen didn't want to win with all three phases of the game, basically (he didn't care about offense). To the people of this board, is that your take, or is ...

Re: The greatest AFL game ever played?
The Heidi game changed television network sports coverage, so it would have to be the most consequential AFL game of all time. That game was more consequential than even Super Bowl III. For me, the best game by a single AFL team was San Diego's championship performance in 1963. The Chargers did ever...
