Re: Tom Forrest.

The Social Security Death Index is/was a useful tool for tracking down the date of death of former players, although is now limited: -

Section 203 of the "Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013" states - "The Secretary of Commerce shall not disclose to any person information contained on the Death Master File with respect to any deceased individual at any time during the 3-calendar-year period beginning on the date of the individual's death,".

Certified persons can access the relevant recent data, although there is a fine for disclosing the data to non-certified persons.

This was signed in to law on December 26 2013 and Section 203 took effect 90 days later.

Basically, deaths recorded in 2014 will not now be available in the SSDI until at least 2017.

Apparently this was done to protect against "identity theft", although surely it makes more sense for recent deaths to be searchable in order to confirm whether or not a person is deceased?

Any chance someone knows how to get ahold of former Eagles All-Pro RB Timmy Brown?

Thanks,

Bironas holds the NFL record for kicking eight field goals in a single game, which he accomplished on 10/21/2007. His 29-yard FG on the final play of regulation was the game winner as Tennessee beat Houston 38-36.

Edit: On NFL Countdown, Chris Berman mentioned that his father-in-law was Terry Bradshaw, that Bironas married Terry's daughter a few months back.
