It would be a crying shame if Lewellen or Emerson gets in and Barwegan doesn't.

Dick Barwegan has to be on the list.

Looks like the possibilty of two seniors nominated per year could start with the upcoming Class Of 2023. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Would be nice if Gradishar, Howley, Dilweg, Lewellen, Emerson and other seniors can get a better chance.

I'm late to the party on this one - just seeing this tonight. Not much disagreement from me. Of course my 5th is predictably different:
Dilweg
Wistert
Emerson
Lewellen
Latone
I could have put Christiansen over Latone, but he can’t even break into the HOVG
With hardly any pre-NFL players in (just Thorpe), its really hard to pick just 5 among that group, but I’ll give it a try:
Ted Nesser
Homer Davidson
Herman Kerchoff
John Gammons
Ed Young
Dilweg
Wistert
Emerson
Lewellen

I think that Dilweg and Lewellen would cancel each other out, just like Emerson and Christensen would probably cancel each other out.

Ken, it's disappointing you mention some vague thing about the length of Barwegan's career and donate a whole paragraph to it without so much as mentioning the significant impact his time in the military had, the result of which was that he didn't play his first pro game until he was 25 years and 9 months old. And while you mention three Hall of Famers whose careers were shorter, there are literally dozens of Hall of Famers with careers that were shorter or the same length.
And while I know you put a lot of time and effort into your film study project, don't you think it's inappropriate to be posting conclusions about Barwegan's play (or anybody else's for that matter) that are based on literally seeing only a handful of that player's games when some of those games aren't even entire games but highlights? I would think there would have to be some kind of baseline before doing so like viewing at least 20% of somebody's career games.
