Re: 2015 Obituaries
It is wrong that he was the first Polish-born NFL player. Without looking up, fellow kicker Chester Marcol began his NFL career three years earlier.BD Sullivan wrote:Former Saints (and Jets for one game) kicker Rich Szaro died this morning in his native Poland:

But Szaro has a record that is difficult to surpass in the near future: he is the all-time NFL scorer for a Harvard alumni, he has nearly three times more points that Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Re: 2015 Obituaries
He was drafted by the Bears, but never played for any NFL team during the regular season (or postseason). He was activated from the taxi squad in October 1971 as Bobby Douglass' backup after Jack Concannon and Kent Nix went down with injuries, but returned to the taxi squad after two games.LJP wrote:Former Bears QB Buddy Lee died on April 10, aged 67.

He was traded to the Rams for RB Jim Kirby in July 1972, but also never saw the field.
