The fourth runner in Packer history to top 1,000 yards in a season, Terdell Middleton has died. In the 1978 season, he rushed for 1,116 yards in a 16-game season.
That year - with a great group of first- and second-year players (Mike Butler, Ezra Johnson, James Lofton, John Anderson, Mike Douglas, Mike Hunt, Greg Koch plus Middleton and backup QB David Whitehurst starting the entire season for Lynn Dickey) - the Packers started out hot, with a 6-2 record at mid-season. They would win only two more games that season, finishing 8-7-1 and missing the playoffs.
Middleton went on to play for the Bucs and in the USFL. He was 59.
