I think the 1974 game where the Steelers lost to Houston at home the Sunday after Thanksgiving was a worse effort - six first downs on offense, nine net passing yards, six completions. It was the worst offensive output of the 1972-79 Steeler era. Newspaper reports are notoriously unreliable but it appears like they got this one right. ?I always thought it was if pre-'74 Steelers D had a weakness at all, it was vs the run until Lambert was added then it was no longer an issue at all. Against OJ 2nd game of regular season (defending-Champ's 'bull's-eye' on chest every game)...nothing to be too ashamed of.
