The Dancing Bear also holds the record for most interceptions for a defensive lineman with 12.

Joe Klecko was inducted last year. Why not Gastineau this year? He's an excellent nominee!

Gastineau received some horrible health news of late(dementia, Alzheimers AND Parkinsons), butbefore then I was happy to see him put his life back together. Can't say I was very fond of his personality and showboating. He was a ME guy who was never well liked in the locker room.

However as a pure player, you could make a very strong case for him being in the actual HOF.

1982 Defensive Player of the year

1980 - 11.5 sacks
1981 - 20
1982 - 6 (projected 10.5)
1983 - 19
1984 - 22
1985 - 13.5

He was an All-Pro 5x during that stretch.

Heck he was even leading the league in sacks in 1988. 7 sacks in 7 games.

To me the 6 season stretch of pure dominance between 1980-1985 should get him in, but he was just so disliked by everybody around the league

I would also vote a "yes" for Ron McDole. He doesn't have as many flashy numbers as Gastineau or Klecko, but still achieved impressive feats - most INTs by a DL, 2 championships, one of the seventy greatest Redskins, etc.
