2019 HOVG nominees

Post by ChrisBabcock »

hey everyone... Not that I want to steal any thunder from anyone who would normally make an announcement like this... I just noticed in the most recent edition of the Coffin Corner (which would be January/February), that there was a message stating that the deadline for nominations for the Class of 2019 Hall Of Very Good is April 30. That is only a few weeks away. I would think there would be another reminder in the March/April issue but printing may be a bit behind schedule. So, get your nominations in! :) I notice there are a few notable players who’s careers ended in 1993 who would be great candidates. We could use this thread to post your nominees after sending them to Any Piascik. That way you can check here before sending in your nominees to see if a guy you had in mind got nominated yet. I have not decided on mine yet.

Somebody beat me to Latone so I'm nominating Mike Stratton instead.

None of these folks are eligible yet, best as I know. I think the player has to be in the Senior pool to qualify for the HotVG, and that doesn't apply to any of them. Oates will qualify as of next year, and he was the first of these folks to retire -- assuming he doesn't get in next time around.

Had no idea what the rules were honestly. Where can I find them

I think that you just have to be a retired pro football player to be eligible for the HOVG.
