Re: 1985 vs 1989 Redskins

Both times, losses at home against the Cowboys left them out of the playoffs. In 1989, it was the Cowboys lone win of the season, and their first without Tom Landry as their Head Coach. QB Steve Walsh and RB Paul Palmer were the 'stars' of that 13-3 win.

Re: Giants/Rams history

I came away a huge fan of Henry Ellard as he was absolutely brilliant all game. He's a guy who still doesn't get the credit he deserves for a magnificent career. I agree about Ellard and just to remind, he is eligible for the HOVG for the first time this year (and he is pretty deserving). He led th...

Re: Seniors

Many don't remember that Scott started his pro career with the CFL' BC Lions in 1969 as a wide receiver. And in his final NFL season in 1978 he had 7 interceptions while playing for Washington. I think Scott and Dick Anderson are HOF worthy, but it seems that they have been cancelling each other in ...

Re: SB Champions That Should Have Repeated

Good thread with SB teams that could, or should have three-peated. What about SB Champions that could, or should have went back-to-back as champions? A look back ... 1969 Chiefs -- In hindsight, I felt this team should have repeated as champions for 1970, following GB before the Dolphins. They dest...

Re: Obscure trivia

Name a team with 4 players who, at one time or another, gained 1000 yards rushing in a season. (could be more than 4 but I only know of a team that had 4) 1980 Cleveland Browns. Mike Pruitt, Charles White, Greg Pruitt, Calvin Hill. 1976 Washington Redskins: Mike Thomas John Riggins Calvin Hill Larr...

Re: CHOG concept

The one player I thought when reading is linebacker Eric Hill. He started in all of his 11 NFL seasons with the Cardinals, Rams and Chargers from 1989 to 1999, never making a Pro Bowl, All-Pro or All-Conference, while never playing on a winning team.

Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

2 more that came to mind: Rashaan Salaam: 1995 w/ Bears Karim Abdul-Jabbar: 1996 w/ Dolphins Karim led the NFL in rushing TD’s in 1997 So? How many were short yardage plunges or easy walk ins? He was not a good running back. Poor YPC. Not very elusive or explosive Of the 33 rushing touchdowns Abdul...
