Color of goal post 1936
I'm colorising a 1936 black and white Pittsburgh Americans photo and wonder if anyone can advise me on the color of the goal post in that era please?

Re: Color of goal post 1936
Yellow was not mandated until 1966 as part of the infamous "Baltimore extensions."
Be aware that the padding was not necessarily white. Although there are no stipulations I could find, I am sure there must have been something stating that it could not be a solid color of the home team.

There was NO standard color of goalposts prior to 1966.
The default color was white. but some teams (The Browns in the 1964 NFL Title Game is a good example) would use team colors as stripes on their posts.

I feel like most people would feel like it would be incredibly pointless to spend time decorating a goalpost. Then again a lot of people at the games would have been drinking.
