3) One of the Vikings who was making the league minimum ended up making 6 pro bowls.

Question about number two: Did this quarterback who won no games throw any passes or start any games in 1982?

And a question about number eight: Did those two players receive any individual accolades in 1982?

oooh - 82 was the strike year so these are really fun/good/tough questions. Curious where you found the info because salary info was a secret back then. It's still difficult to find salary info from the past. At least for me it has been.

I'm going to guess #1 is a longtime linebacker - Jeff Simeon? Might be Matt Blair but I don't think he'd be paid higher. #2 -- I'm going to take a wild guess and say Ken Stabler is at least a possibility. #3 If Steve Jordan was a rookie in 82, he's a good guess, IMO. #4 - man, that's really tough. Going to guess Oilers were the lowest because that's after the whole Phillips debacle and they probably cut costs and lost a lot. Highest - even more difficult. I don't even have a guess there. #5 Lambert? If he hadn't retired by then, that's a high possibility. #6 Too Tall has got to be one I would think. Randy White the other? #7 Whoa, that's really difficult but I"m going to take a wild guess and say John Hannah and Leon Gray - because though whole Gray trade was over them wanting higher contracts. 8. My guess is the center is Webster. Strong safety, man, that's really, really tough. Ken Houston had retired and I don't think Ronnie Lott would have made that much yet. Donnie Shell is my decent guess there. For 9, my first thought was Dorsett and Franco Harris, but you said 1 Super Bowl. So I'll guess Chuck Foreman and Franco Harris. #10 sounds unfortunately like John Jefferson's disappearance. Whether it's him or not, he's still the most spectacular receiver ever. And I remember that trade was all about him wanting a better contract.

I don't know if I got zero right or guessed them all - either way, this was a lot of fun. Thanks for this post.

I got a 1981 Niners book by Lou Sahadi off of ebay awhile ago. For some reason, there was a cutout clipping from the Minnesota Pioneer Press that was an article about top NFL salaries and also listed all the Vikings salaries.

#3 is Jordan.

#6 is Too Tall and Randy White
#7 is Hannah and Gray
