This current, surprising Saleh firing inspires this.

Ron Meyer being fired after Pats' 5-3 start in '84 (5-2 before that loss to 8-0 Miami) is what first comes to mind. I'm sure there may be better ones, or ones close to it, that some of you may bring up or one to come to my mind independently.

Back to Jets/Saleh...they not making the playoffs this year, especially ending in a losing season, then I can see the move being made. But 2-3, can be tied for 1st with a win over Bills next Monday Night, and Woody already had him as HC going into the season in the first place? Rodgers simply not playing that good, he being allowed power to have Hackett on as OC in the first place may be the bigger culprits here. That's what others are saying as well.

But watching Pat McAfee, being that Aaron frequently appears as a guest (he's going to be on tomorrow, Wed), they aren't going to say anything of the sort. Nor are they going to entertain the possible rift he had with Saleh which, in fairness, may have been blown out of proportion.

I could tell you what could be the best example of the inverse (best performance after changing coaches): 1961 Oilers; 1-3-1 to a title in the AFL.

But up to the firing, not sure of any examples that would stand out off the top of my head.
